what is tanka poetry? great name beautiful poem i am not as academic as i'd like to be

Tanka is more or less an expanded haiku with two additional lines of 7 syllables. Syllable count isn't critical as Japanese and English seldom match. The objective is to get a whole image in few words (ideally with a double meaning) as AJ did in this one.
