Creative Drowning 101...

Out on the lake,
I made a mistake,
I missed the bow.
And I even know how,
To do the T-rescue.
What would I do?
Here comes the inevitablte fear,
Oh such fear.
One of the teachers flipped me and my craft.
I had thought I would drown, oh how daft.
"What happened to your wet exit?"
"Freaked out, forgot to do it."
"All you need is a solid wet exit and thats it for the day."
Thats all my other teacher needed to say!
Swam to shore,
Trying to win an anti-weed war.
Got back in the boat,
Made sure I could float.
And did that wet exit,
Got it!
And swam to shore,
Trying to win an anti-weed war.
Got out, went to the Retro Mobile,
Heard my story like a joke reel.
I love kayaing, even when done,
Or should I say Creative Drowning 101...

Note: this is based on my experience in the last thirty minutes at the lake were we were practicing our kayak skills and learning the strokes. Laugh if you want, I don't mind.

i [glow=pink,2,300]LoVe[/glow] kayaking aswell (though i've only done it once!) and this is so...fitiing!! lol, made me smile! keep it up!!

Thx. You know what sucks? I am more likley to flip on the lake than in the river. Yesterday my class went on the river and I did not have to T-rescue or wet-exit ONCE and the only time I flipped was when I was getting out of my boat when we were leaving.

these little things really irk me aswell though...

Today, I flipped twice (peeling out of an eddy in semi-rapid rapids{always got sutck in a hole and,phoosh, soaking wet}), used my wet-exits though, so it's all good.

today, we started learning how to roll, blaugh

"cheek to shoulder, cheek to shoulder" is what one of my instructor says while gently shoving my cheek into my shoulder. "Bigger hip snap" is also a mantra I hear alot.
