Self-mutilation always baffled me because I'm a big chicken. They say they do it to release pain, yet to do it they have to inflict harm upon themselves! It seems to me to be an odd, round about way to get comforted. I always thought these people, not to be abnormal in any respect, but just to be "wired" differently that the rest of us.

If this is about you and you're worried that this "problem" is out of control you should actively seek help. I wouldn't want anything bad to happen to you.

But if it isn't about you, if it's about a friend, maybe she needs you to lend her some courage to get some help.

I appreciate this piece for it's candor and for giving us a look into a relatively unknown aspect of life.

i understand completely about ur problem i hae the same one but only when im mad do i do it and im a litlle preppy and popular at school too no one understands me but im sure u would i guess only others who do it understand about it anyways ill leave u alone now!!
