How come I'm so closed off these days?
Where did the right words go?
Why do I always think you'd laugh
If I tried to let you know?
So much inside that they don't see
They couldn't have a clue.
I still know why I closed the door
But I'd open it for you.
I'd show you just what's underneath
My paint and empty smiles.
Try and get up close to you,
The road goes on for miles.
Always had somebody else.
In silence I looked on
As you moved into my mind
And filled up what was gone.
I know you've no idea,
But soon I hope you'll see
I've told you this before you know
All I left out was me.

When the night is almost over, just before the moon goes down
The wings of waking angels echo softly all around
