When I was a kid (my first poem)

When I was a kid I was scared of the dark
I’d lay in bed every night staring out into my room
Hoping the shadows would go away

Now I’m not scared of the dark anymore
I lay in bed every night with the darkness around me
Embracing me like a cold black blanket

When I was a kid I was scared of death
I’d lay in bed every night thinking about happens
What happens when all the lights go out?

Now I’m not scared of death anymore
I lay in bed every night praying for Grim to pay me a visit
Will you please just take me away?

When I was a kid I was happy to be here
But I’m not a kid anymore
