barking up a tree

I wrote a poem for God and thee
you remember
"God said bark
I said dog
You said tree"
God said, "It's fine," so casually
I begged you, "Please don't / please do lie to me"
your answer came so leavingly
muttering, uttering, peevishly
"I hope that I shall never see
one poem more on poetry"
