I lie awake
Wondering if you’re doing the same
How is it that though time has gone by
I still think about your hand across my chest as we slept
Just so you could make sure I was still breathing
Me holding you
Waiting for your nightmares to pass.
What happened to us? From in love to have love to no love
Just strangers, ships in the night.
Was it all just a lie to keep me by your side?
The question hurts but holds no purpose
