Love lost due to wrong is all too hard
But a love lost to time,
When the pieces slowly crumble
Is the hardest loss
The years may make one grow away
But the other wants to stay
It ends on "good terms"
But the smile just hides the pain
Comfort is found in poison
Any way that numbs the brain
The problem is even when you can't think
Your heart still feels the pain
If only it was infidelity
The sweet forbidden embrace
Because then you would have anger
And anger leaves less room for pain
The only solution was the downfall
With time wounds heal
But for a wound this deep
The scars are all too real
I want you to stay
I've loved you and love you still
There is now a gap in my heart
That only your love can fill
It hurts. I'm an engineer and not a creative writer (I also have never really written anything like this), but the words just came as an outlet to this hard time in my life. I hope you all can get something out of it.
