The sunflower

My favorite flower is the sunflower.
Bright
Beautiful
Tall
The sunflower grows alone
Just one tall sunflower
radiating
with beauty. Even
among an array
of nature's most pulchritudinous blossom,
the sunflower
dominates.
an auroral yellow
bursting out of the petals
shimmering on the garden below
willing all other flowers to grow. 
Golden sunrays, reaching
to warm everything it can
but the cool green stem rooting it to the ground.
She is happy
a bright, extraordinary happiness
emanates from her
and shines on the earth.
She does not know
the warmth she radiates
the happiness she spreads
the strength she gives.
The beautiful sunflower.
