I like this. I'm not entirely sure why I like it, or what exactly it's about, but I like it.

Everything that is written is incomplete, untill the reader forms their own understanding of the material read. If it is misunderstood, then that too, is what it is 'about'.

I don't entirely agree with that. While the reader can take things as they choose, it will always be about what the writer intended it to be about. Interpretations are molds we push things into. I do agree that all writing is incomplete. But in the same way, all art, and all music, and effectively all human work is incomplete.

Critics can only review the book that they have read / Not the book that the author has written. Which is why I disregard critical opinions. People imposing their own ideas of meaning onto everyone else, making it look like they must be correct through their fancy words and vague remarks. Feel free to take things as you do, but don't go off trying to explain it to others. The author wrote his words to be read, not to be rephrased.

If one does not include 'Quotation Marks, one does NOT have to reproduce as written. It' is acceptable to comment on the concept without being accused of 'Plagerism. MY original concept is that EVERY one has different levels of comprehension and experience. NO one can speak accurately about the mind set of another, though many claim 'they know. ... and this thread has become boring.

This has nothing to do with quoting or plagiarism. The point I made was that I don't have much idea of what the author meant. My further point was that I despise anyone who gives 'critical opinions' or tries to explain what the author meant. You can read things however you wish, but you don't know what the author meant, so don't try and give your ideas off to others as if it's what the author intended. Read up on some Emerson. Open your mind. Now, the statement I initially had a problem with was this: Everything that is written is incomplete, untill the reader forms their own understanding of the material read. If it is misunderstood, then that too, is what it is 'about'. My problem with it: the author knows what their work is about. The reader simply interprets. If I were to misunderstand the meaning of The Catcher in the Rye, and go off telling people it's about some magical land of unicorns, then I'm sure Salinger would have disagreed. That's why I don't go off telling people what I think their work is "about." Only they know what it's about. I just interpret. If you're bored, why would have even bothered posting?

I am here to read & write / NOT to debate or waste time.

Then feel free to do so. I just stated my opinion. Then you went off trying to put it in your own words or something-or-other.
