You feel your mind deleting phrases—precious pieces— Parts of your past once so strong, lost. You’ve let go only to wonder if they were ever real
Perhaps the smile fooled even you. That forever well of sadness Bottomless and covered by the determination to live.
Stay alive. Don’t look down. Maybe it doesn’t exist.
But the drips drop down for miles and you fail to deny It’s there. Watchful death, waiting to push me in.

Very nice. Certain forms of poetry just synchronize properly with certain people, and this one definitely synchronizes with me.
