(This is my first awkward attempt at poetry. Free verse, I guess? The mistakes are mine!)
To be and independent variable means being lonely sometimes when the scientist hangs up her coat and leaves you waiting for tomorrow
To be an independent variable means not complaining when you're thrown and crushed and burned and stung and poked and prodded and hit and pushed and hurt and poured... into the clear, little graduated cylinders
To be an independent variable means not to feel when all the data is collected and the scientist finds a better experiment to test because being an independent variable is all about change
