I think I’ll stay outside a while longer
just with myself and this night
and the harsh, cooling darkness .
I’ll just think for a little while more
while the wind makes leaves dance at my feet
and for a second it feels like magic.
But I think perhaps a while is too long
and the darkness swells and breeds forever.
