It is not strange, it is a very nice image... I think we often use pictures in this poetry form because we have such few words to try and say so much... leaving the reader to find the power inside her or himself to visualize the meaning... to travel in his or her mind to the story or picture described... I think this is why Haiku and poetry in all its forms is only understood by a certain kind of people, simply because the gift of listening/reading and imagining, traveling in once own mind and visualizing is something which is demanded as there are no logical explanation for what is written... or atleast most of the time the meaning of it is to be found behind the words that first meat the eye... say look at your haiku... sweet and yet somehow there is passion to be found... my mind visualizes a young girl in the beginning of the warm sommer capturing the golden light af the sky in her mind and though all you have given me is a glance of something which went through your mind, I feel the blood in the undertoe of what is said... fire, perhaps passion... the swallow... possible you, the return... perhaps of hope... who knows... the important part is that my mind is turning and reflecting and imagining... you made me do that... so... no, your haiku is not confrusing it is interesting.

Haiku is traditionally inspired by pondering nature. But American Haiku tends to bend that rule. No longer do you have to place a seasonal word in the passage, but I often do because to me it's fitting. I tend to stray a little in free-form Haiku. It's still 17 syllables, but you can make it less. I liked your Haiku. It was lovely! Keep it up.
