no bells ring in me

look outside
the sun is shining
the birds are singing happily
it must be Sunday

Sunday
what is Sunday?
oh, Sunday rings a bell
and a smell

the scent of
flowers, chocolates and tea
flow through the air
in my memory

what day is it today?
oh dear, now let me see
goodness me, it's mother's day
so i'll tell you what you mean to me

warm cuddles on the lounge
being tucked into bed
helping me through every day
if it weren't for you, i'd be dead

all our family days out
which were fun when i was young
but now i've grown
and it's time to learn to be alone

a helping hand when i need
and kiss to heel my knee
