just a little green

My latest. The wind softly brushes the grass. Singing its song a bird swoops past. Yellow dots green and mixes with brown, It’s simply too beautiful: impossible to frown. The weathered old fence has seen its time, But the tough old wood still holds fine. Spring is here, rebirth has come. Birds fly north, who knows where from. A sense of change is in the air, The season more gentle, easier to bear. Flowers leap forth with strong roots ahold. And the eagle soars high, alone so bold. Oh it’s so good to be here, it is so fine! Like a starlit night, with Casey as mine. Yeah I know the last two lines are a bit random but the girl, Casey, was looking over my shoulder as I wrote it, so I figured I could throw it out there. -James

I love this poem, the way it flows and how peaceful it makes you feel, really beautiful.
