Dont protest the war

[gooba]

when you have got the blues
and you sit back and kick off your shoes
shoot through to watch the evening news
and you choose to abuse
our soldiers right to be alive
and fight for what they say is right then you know
you have taken the time to show
our soldiers on death row
that you think know
how to get them back
so you protest
show no slack
start to become untacked
become a pest
start big rallies of war protest
get school kids to wag
burn some rags
and even our national flag
and think that when you nag
for our boys to come home
its shown
theres been an attack so close to home
and you look back and see
that in this time you have wasted
on all these signs you have pasted
you hesitated
where you were really needed
over there with the boys who bleed and grieve
and cease to believe
in god or themselves
As theyre thrown away like dolls on shelves
they think theyre in hell
when they could be well
and still do whats needed
what can you do
but sit there
and stare
or maybe glare
when you try to compare
the cost of the fare over there
to join in the fight
but deep down you know its not right to fight
but whats needed to be done
by some to show the boys
theres hope in sight
for this terriable fight.
