Just Like Me

Losing status, must conform
Be like all the rest
Adorn myself, their expectations
Try and pass the test
Personality means nothing
Imitation takes control
Fighting off unborn impulses
Harder than you know
Shaking off insignias
We tried to create
So I can try and be myself
It just might be too late
Try and make me fall in line
It's bad to lose control
Depleted and diminished dreams
They threw away the goal

This poem totally makes me think of my school and every girl, and now practically every boy in it. They're all contortionists . Ick I say. Ick. I refuse to become this poem! People always tell me the reason they love being around me is because I'm so different ;D. This is a line I often get,
"you're not like other girls are you?"
Anyway, enough about my social life. . . .
Be true to yourself girl, and keep writing .

thanks for the comment, I'm glad you get it. It's not only in schools that people feel they must conform, it's society in general. People think if they show any sign of individuality the world they know might shun them. And that does happen a lot. You should stay the way you are, it's totally cool that you are different. I like it i really understand it i used to feel the need to be like others but as i grew up i became more me i mean i may not have as many friends but im happy being myself.... society is to fake for free souls...
