Everyone ought to have a dirt road.
At least that's what my sister says.
One that can carry you away
like whispers upon the wind...
My dirt road is where I can
kick up some dirt
just to watch the puffs of smoke
especially when I'm disgusted
with someone, something, anyone, anything,
...myself...
Walking my dirt road
I notice the life surrounding me...
As a gentle breeze stirs
limber branches sway and dance
beckoning me...
Squirrels scamper from tree to tree
playing "catch me if you can"
chittering as they go...
Do they know they make me smile?
Walking my dirt road I notice the flowers
so pretty in their wildness.
I DO stop to smell them
for in their plainness
they are beautiful and free...
As I look up through the network
of intertwining branches
my breath catches for the beauty
my eyes behold...
For the sky that peeks through
is a blue so vivid!!!
That I am riveted to the spot...
My heart swells with wonder
and I DO appreciate life...
Yes, my sister was right...
EVERYONE ought to have a dirt road...
