I wrote a pretty letter

I wrote a pretty letter in my dreams
I dreamed about your pretty smiling face.
And carefully I wrote you reams and reams
I saw you somewhere dressed in pretty lace.

I penned the pretty stars and clouds above
and sent you flowers and sweet chocolates, too.
I wrote you of my deep and honest love
and how I'd soon be coming home to you.

And ev'ry time I tried to cut and paste
to put my dream into a mail to send.
It disappeared and all my words erased
My fingers just could not get to the end.

And now I send you love as I'm awake
my heart and soul are only yours to take,

And,

I wrote you a pretty letter in my dreams
