To be a Bud Again

if a rose could be a bud again
a fantasy sorely sought
to be able to go back
is something that cant be bought

to change what we did wrong
to return to fix and see
to remedy the pain we caused
are things that will never be

to run around like a little child
rather than feeling weary pain
to fall in love like before
are dreams that we cant gain

to be able to go backwards
as much as our hearts desired
to feel as we once did
would set our spirits higher

but a rose cant be a bud again
its the trick of our stark lives
though we understand life in reverse
forward...we must strive.
