SUNSET WATERS
When a soul leaves its body, It stops vibrating. The dark heavens are transparent and there. Life is gentle and forgiving, For those who wait in grayish patience. The city lights turn off, And day begins. Old stars lose their artificial glow, But are still there. The sun believes in you, And shines a cool light in your straight direction, And is careful to the eyes. The narrow road widens for your deserved sake. You listen to the stars with attentive ears, Even in the day's moonlight. You can now see in the dark, Because life has let you open your eyes, Once again. You no longer have to kiss the feet of lower, hypocritical democracies. Lifes arrows no longer bleed, But are happy for you. They patiently leave your punctured body, And leave you painless. You may now dine with God in understanding, With sympathetic ears and eyes. You may now bathe in lucky waters, Without guilt slowly knocking on your open door. You may now prosper, Without drowning the poor too often, In hypocritical, scared, unknown waters. Life is a gift that you may now open, Without curiosity. The heavens look at you without sympathy, And life is good again.
