I have built a wall.
One that was supposed to protect me,
but hasn't.
It was supposed to leave me sheltered,
it was supposed to bring me happiness.
Yet, it did just the opposite.
It left me alone,
vulnerable to the world.
It left me vacant,
it shattered my soul.
Slowly my wall is disappearing,
my life is finally falling into place.
Everyday the wall grows smaller,
my soul rebuilt
piece by piece.
And my heart,
replaces that wall,
that used to leave me vacant.
And now my heart,
brings me not only happiness,
but it shelters me.
It seems it will be forever in coming,
but one day,
there will be no wall,
only me.
Joined by both heart and soul.
