Days go by, and I yearn
Yearning for something
Something to make me feel
Feel like I can touch the past
Spectacular yellow sunlight shining on the woodchips
The rays refract from the glass of broken bottles on the wall
Soft breeze blowing gently, flag rippling and waving in the air
As the wind blows, the weathered copper eyelets percuss upon the impossibly high metallic beam
The scent of freshly chipped wood fills the air and me
Days go by, and still I yearn
Yearning for something
Something to make me feel whole again
To feel like I can breathe again
Sun is setting; the vibrant orange glow pours gently onto the seats of every swing
As the wind blows, it carries with it a thousand red and yellow leaves
Whirling and twirling, they dance and spin around the blacktop
The chains of the basketball hoops chime and clank
The scent of rain envelops me
Days pass, and my yearning fades
The emotions I once felt begin to slip away
When I think of her, I become lucid
When once she held more to me than the stars hold to the sky
But I know she’s there
Deep within the recesses of my heart
And everything that I once felt
Everything that I once loved, everything that once controlled my every motive, thought and action
Lies sleeping inside me
Waiting; Waiting for the right time
When she can free herself
And she does, when she can
I know that she’s there
I need only to allow myself to feel again
