And daffodils, like messengers, announce its completion
From the bottom up, the green appears
Tiny buds decorate the dull, rigid trees
And the white is gone for now
It is here and the clouds gift that familiar liquid
Uplifting breezes are no surprise
Providing a fragrant blanket of sweet alyssum
And the dense air begs for entry
It is a solid wall with intense light
Orange swings overhead like a ball on string
The lengthened days begin to halt And the wind blows, and change approaches
The trees like torches convey its presence
And rustling vortexes frighten critters
Preparing for the nudging cold
And the first sheet is laid
