Looking back now,
I am unsure how,
I could ever have loved such a thing.
Such a thing,
So small a being,
And yet you stole my heart so completely.
Ripping, tearing,
You left your mark –
Just as I knew you would –
And yet,
I stayed –
Just as You knew I would –
And yet,
You stayed
Knowing full well that it wouldn’t just kill me,
It would murder us –
If we ever were that.
