The Meeting

I was sitting in meal hall with my friend Mike,
when he asked me a question, a favor of the like.
“When Lauren comes down and if she brings a friend,
could you take her away, even if you do not like her, please pretend?”
So I thought to myself, what could go wrong?
And when I went to talk to her, it didn’t take long.

Before I knew it she was at my side,
smiling awkwardly up at me, she was along for the ride.
Within the next few days she was the only one on my mind,
I had to make a move quick, she was the perfect find.
With her cute little laugh and beautiful smile,
I asked her if she would like to hang out for a while.
And since that day, she has been nothing but sweet,
And I hope she doesn’t laugh at what I write on this sheet.

I am lucky to be with her, this girl who I speak,
she brightens my days, and she enlightens my week.
If I could tell her one thing that she may not know,
would be how much I like her and wish I could show.
She makes me so happy and makes me care free,
even if I have to sit through, a grueling episode of glee.

I guess what I am saying is,
through the good and the bad,
I want to be with you,
during the happy and the sad.
With you by my side, nothing is boring.
When I’m with you I feel like I’m soaring.
I am ever so grateful for that late night meal.
Ending up with you, was definitely a great deal.
