All the clocks are broken Still time cannot be stilled It leaves its marks upon him It leaves his bones chilled
Marking moments Marking days Marking all of his solace In these semi-permanent ways
All the clocks are broken He smashed them as he went His violence has spoken While silently he wept
All this time is running Running round inside his head It keeps up a constant ticking That soon will drive him mad
All the clocks are broken Cast aside into a heap He defied the clocks and their makers And the time that they would keep
They keep track of every promise They watch each mistake They mark down every hour They only judge they only take
All the clocks are broken Still time cannot be stilled It leaves its marks upon him As time it often will

Well said! You're so right....you can try but can't stop time. I like the vein of frustration that runs through this. Thanks
