The floods came. So unprepared was I, for the rushing, unrelenting torrents that threatened to consume me.
My raft, nothing more than empty promises, left me drowning in a sea of nothingness.
There was weeping, and gnashing of teeth. No one near to share the pain. Trust, a distant rainbow, another illusion.
The floods came, and there was weeping, and the eternal scarring of a soul......

I like how you incorporated "...Trust, a distant rainbow, another illusion.." into your poem. Good comparision in this instance as "trust" can look beautiful from afar but can be really condensation at hand. Thanks for posting this poem about pain.
